Reaves Family

This was a fun shoot! This family reminds me a lot of mine. They are a combination of his, mine and ours..although you'd never know it. I had the same dynamic in my family. We laughed, fought, teased eachother etc. just like any other siblings!
 Proud Grandparents!

 See what I mean?! :)

Thank you Reaves Family!!

South Tacoma Auto feeds Military Families

I had the honor of being part of South Tacoma Auto's anual Military Family Feast. Many of these soldiers were recently back from Iraq or just home on leave from Afghanistan. How wonderful it is to know that there are buisnesses out there concerned about giving back to the community.
This was no spaghetti dinner...there was meat,potatoes,corn..and CUPCAKES!! Don't they look delicious?

After dinner they gave away some really awesome prizes..the grand prize being a $1,000 visa gift card!

Thanks to South Tacoma Auto for their hard work. This turned out to be a wonderful event.

Home for the Holidays

I had the honor to visit this sweet family the other day. Will (Dad) is home for just two weeks from Afghanistan. He was lucky enough to be home for Christmas.
They allowed me to come into their home and take photos of their two precious girls in their own environment.
There's something about taking family photos at home that I really love. I think it's the challenge to capture the family for who they really are. This shot is just so sweet, Mom and Dad coloring with their little girls.

Next we threw the girls in the bath. They are 1 and 2 years old. Becky (mom) sure has her hands full being a single mother most of the time. In the short time I got to watch her with her girls, I know she does a wonderful job. Simply amazing.

Aww, Daddy/Daughter time. These girls love their Daddy!

It was fun chasing them around as they were being themselves. Summersaults and all!

Thank you to this wonderful family. Thank you to Will for all you do for our Country and thank you to Becky for supporting him by taking care of your family while he is away! Inspiring.

Real Life

Meet Ashley and Tyler and their two darling girls! They decided on a Holiday Mini Session this year. (FYI there are still a few spots for the Dec. 10th date.) One of my favorite parts of portrait photography, and family photos in general, is getting to watch each family's dynamic. While we strive to get a perfectly posed photo with smiling faces, like the one above, it's not always reality. When little ones come into the mix I've found I have about the first 5 minutes to try and capture one of these shots and the rest of the time is up to them. I get to chase them around and try to encourage the family to just be themselves as I sit back and shoot away! I love to see what I get when I get home from a shoot. I love to capture "real life".

This is my favorite photo of the shoot! You ask, is it posed? No way, Jose!! There's no way I could have thought of something so perfect. It's called divide and conquer at it's finest! Way to go, parents :)

These little faces running toward you are what makes parenthood worth it all!

Extra thanks to Tyler and Ashley for being so laid back and fun to work with!

Cameron and Josie

This family is so cute! They have the most darling little girls and I had a lot of fun chasing them around!

"Bauer", their dog, got in on a little of the fun as well!

These girl's were cracking me up. So full of personality!

Thanks to this wonderful family! They are such sweet, fun people.
