Beautiful baby
I spent most of the day yesterday watching the memorial for the four slain police officers. What a tragedy; four lives lost for no reason. I felt sad for their families and greatful for my own family who is safe, warm and healthy. Today I got to meet a brand new life. Innocent, sweet and unscared by the world. She was so beautiful. She has a mommy and daddy to protect her, a sister to look up to and a brother to play with. It was so nice and reasuring to see such a beautiful and peaceful scence amongst the terrible things going on in the world.

Warm welcome!
I had the chance to meet this wonderful family last weekend. They were so kind, welcoming and fun to be around. They had some beautiful property with acres of grass to run and play, goats to feed pretzels? to, and toys to play with. You could tell these kids LOVED to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house.
This is a couple that seem to be as much in love today as ever. Both were so gracious to me and even helped out a ton at that shoot! I wasn't used to so much help :)

I love this shot of this mom and her two daughters. There is a mutual love and respect within that group.
These kids were just too cute. I took so many pictures of them because I just couldn't get enough of the sweet little faces they would give me. None were camera shy and boy, did they know how to say CHEESE! I like this candid moment of the big brother and big cousin helping their little sister/cousin across the bridge. I hope that this image will be one that will be looked at from years to now with fond memories of days spents at Grandma and Grandpa's!

SENIOR POWER!
I had so much fun doing this senior shoot. This is Bekkah, my babysitter extrodinair! She was so much fun to shoot. She has such great style and was up for anything! We started out in a field with tall grass and a 1950's bright yellow Wheelies! It felt like we had a professional set. The light was great as we had the ONLY sunny day in November! Next, we headed downtown and got to experiment with all sorts of colors, textures and shapes. I LOVED this shoot and had so much fun. I think I have a special interest in doing senior photo shoots because I HATED mine. I paid 200+ dollars for a 30 minutes session in a studio. They turned out horrible, I thought, and I wouldn't let my mom put them up in the house.

Rain, rain go away!
I have been meaning to do this gorgeous family's photo shoot for a while now, and we always seem to have one problem....RAIN! It did limit our options on what to do, but it also made for some unexpected fun looks.
We had to shoot under my covered patio, which gave off very little light. I had to do a little fandangling with my camera which made the pictures a little grainy, but made for some cool black and white shots.
Their little girl is like the perfect little china doll. I love that you can see her pink cheeks and nose from the cold, November weather. She was a good sport, and although we didn't get a whole lot of smiling shots, I think these innocent little looks she gives are just as precious!
By the end, my camera lens was fogging up and made this blurry glow in the pictures. Once again, go black and white and sometimes it comes out as a pretty cool, vintage looking image! Thanks for being such good sports guys. I know this is just a teaser, but I'll get them all to you soon!

The Lay Fam
This beautiful family and I had some fun with this shoot. I'm not one for traditional, posed pictures. We did get a few of those in, but I had a lot of fun experimenting with them and their giant back yard. Kids are fun to just take off by themselves and just watch them play. It lets you capture them in that moment for who they truly are, instead of a forced cheesy smile.
These two were so much fun to watch. They are complete opposites, but love each other so much! They are SO cute!

Sweet baby girl!
I love the babies! So sweet, so innocent, so much fun to play with......and then give back to their parents! I love their chubby thighs, the light in their eyes, and that sweet first smile! It's so important to take lots of photos because they grow so fast!
This little girl was the perfect model!
